Membership

The Institute shall have the following grades of membership:

1. Fellows;

2. Members;

3. Associated Members;

4. Student Members; and

5. Corporate Members.

1. Fellow (FISHP)

Any senior members of the profession who is eminent in Safety and Health, having held a   position of superior responsibility for six years or more shall be eligible for admission as a Fellows of the Institute subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

2. Member (MISHP)

Any person who is engaged or interested in the field of safety and health management in industry, commerce or public organization, of good character and accepts the objects of the Institute shall be eligible for admission as a Member of the Institute subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

3. Associate Member (AMISHP)

Any person holding a Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or Equivalent and having a period of experience in safety and health on normally no less than one year duration shall be eligible for admission as an Associate member of the Institute subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

4. Student Member

Student of formal full time courses, part-time continuing education course or apprentice of approved schemes shall be eligible for admission to the Institute as a Student Member subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

5. Corporate Member

 Any firm or company registered, whether incorporated or unincorporated, shall be eligible for admission as a Corporate Member of the Institute subject to approval by the Executive Committee.
